In math last week, we were continuing to work on measuring data. All of our class made surveys with partners to ask some other class. Then we compared our class to the class some of us surveyed. We also made bar graphs to represent our data.

In social studies last week, we started talking about how a bill becomes a law, because we are going to the state house next week. We have to be prepared! We made paper bag trees, to represent the three branches of government. This is an example:

In science, we are still continuing on working about sinking and floating. We also tried to flink something. (Not have any part of the object touching air, but not touching the bottom, either.) We did this by adding plasticene clay to counting bears.

We also experimented on which type of fabric would be best for a raincoat. The fabrics tested were wool, nylon, cotton, and a blend. We had a scientists meeting after and concluded that nylon was the best.

In writing we are finishing up our personal essays and moving on to persuasive essays.

We are still working on social issues in our book clubs for reading, too.

We had a great week!
