In social studies this week we have started to learn about Vermont history. So far, we have learned about what life was like when there were giant glaciers, and native americans. The Fleming Museum was nice enough to lend us some abniki artifacts. Next we will learn about the Revolutionary War, and when the white people came.

In math we have been finishing up our fractions and decimals unit, so we will have our end of unit fractions survey. Also Mrs. Reinhart and Mrs. Baer came into our class for math on Wednesday to do some work on place value. We have made a giant poster that is now hanging on our classroom wall.

In reading we started to research the Revolutionary War. We have just finished our author study reading groups, and now since we are working on history in social studies we are doing history in reading. On Friday, we reviewed how to research, so we will know how to research the Revolutionary War.

In writing we just finished our literary essays and did the voice thread part of our opinion piece. We do not have to do a test on literary essays because we have already done it. We are going to do research essays next.

We have had a great week! :}
